Marshmallow Heart Attack

I bought a bag of pink heart marshmallows about a week or so ago with the intent of putting them on lollipop sticks and dipping them in chocolate.

But for FHE last night I made doughnut holes and said, "Donut you guys know I love you a hole bunch!" While my kids were at school today I made sugar cookie bars. Then my kids came home from school with tons of candy from their class parties.  To add chocolate covered marshmallows to that would be overloading the overload!

So I saw this idea

on pinterest the other day and thought it was cute.  Then the idea hit me to do a Valentine version!  After all, I already had the marshmallows!

So when The Hubs comes home from work tonight this is what he'll see taped to the door.  I can't wait!  The kids are SO excited!

Love is a battlefield.  You are about to get a heart attack.
P.S.  You better run!
The arrow points to his ammo!

So if you need a last minute fun family idea for Valentine's Day today, feel free to have a marshmallow Heart Attack!

What are you doing to make Valentine's fun this year?

Lots o' love...especially because it's Valentine's Day,

Megan

15 Minute Kids' Bathroom Rescue

Nice and organized...in only 15 minutes!!! Can you believe it?  I hardly can.

Really, 15 minutes was all it took.  I even timed myself to be sure.
Here is what my kids'/guest bathroom looked like 15 minutes ago.
There were lotions and potions from I don't even know when.
There were random things that were supposed to go in other places.
And bandaid wrappers that to me, obviously belong in the garbage...apparantly not to my kids though.
So I tossed and purged and here is what I ended up with.
 Only the essentials!
I put all the hair stuff in the upper cupboard.
All the toothbrushes and toothpastes are in the drawer so there is order now.
This is what it looks like under the sink. I have bulk TP, bath mat, cleaning stuff and my guest stuff organizer.  You can see how I did it in this post here.
This is the lower drawer with extra TP and emergency items for guests.
All things teeth in the upper drawer. I wrapped two rubber bands around a cup to make a toothbrush holder for 4 with a cup I already had.  I have lots of toothpastes because my kids have more fun brushing their teeth that way.  It's like shoes for me...I can't wear the same pair day after day...  Options are good!
Here is the cabinet above the sink.  I gave it a good wipe down and put things away in a way that made sense for us.  Everything on the right side is for my daughter's hair care needs.  On the left, for my boys.  I went to the dollar store and bought a pack of 12 combs because with 3 boys and a husband...they always seem to be disappearing.  Hopefully these will last a while. ;o)

On the bottom shelf is a nail brush and our boo-boo box loaded with neosporin and bandaids... sans empty wrappers!

Just for kicks I slid wrapping paper down behind the shelves for a pop of color and fun.  If I decide to change it or it gets too wet I can easily take it out.

That's my kind of makeover!

What do you think?

Lots o' love,

Megan

Upcycled Apron Made From a Skirt

Here she is!  SO SUPER SIMPLE too!
Here is the really cute Chaps skirt I got from a resale shop for just a couple of bucks.  It used to fit until I washed it, and then it was too short!  Dang!  Well instead of throwing it out, I decided to make a cute apron with it instead.
I cut the side with the zipper open.
Then found the center seam, which is at the 2" mark here.
 Then I made 1" pleats.
Here it is all pinned on the outside...
 ...and inside.
I hemmed the bottom and sides and ran a line of stitching though the pleats.
I added a 1" grosgrain ribbon for the tie with a stitched zig-zag...
 ...and voila!
The "Rose" apron.
Aint she purdy?!?

Now that's my kind of makeover!

Lots o' love,
Megan
